I sooooo miss Texas. I used to live in Harker Heights and Copperas Cove. (Next to Killeen) I never knew you could buy hay from a feed store until I moved from Texas. We always loaded in the field. If I mention loading hay in the field peeps just look at me like I am an alien.
God bless Texas!

Sounds like hay is a nationwide problem. We have a different problem in the Northeast. We've got too much rain. I wish I could send it your way. Nobody can get it in the barn since we can't get it dry. Thats not including the floods that knocked out many fields and even a few farms for that matter.

The hay in Oregon is great this year .. the eastern hay is $15.50 for a 130# bale .. but it is good stuff. I throw local hay at $4.00/ bale in the AM and eastern at night ... I just wish I had a grassy pasture ... =(

I'm from Oregon and the hay situation over here is great, eastern Oregon has the best cuttings around. But a bale from the feed store cost around $10.00 for an 85lb bale.Best to get it out of the field if you can. This summer the weather has been hot. Great horse camping weather on the beach.

I have been to the center of Texas,
I've been Brownwood and Coleman, also.

It takes me a while to get back to this site. I bought my little arab mare there.

I stay in contact with the person I bought the horse from, still.

The hay situation in West Virginia is bad, too. Especially for people who have to buy and can't grow. They want around $6.00 a bale for it at the feed store. I try to go in the field for it at around half that. I have a sister out in Texas and I loved it when I was there.

Hello again , The weather up this way is gettin nicer also , except for them ol bad thunderstorms that like to produce them nasty tornado's . I used to live in the central part of Texas years ago . I remember those lil fire ants , they seemed to be EVERYWHERE.
